Antique Country Doctor's Medical Bag, All Leather Very Good

$ 42.21

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Item must be returned within: 30 Days
  • All returns accepted: Returns Accepted
  • Condition: Considering its age, the Doctor's Bag is in very good to excellent condition... considering it was transported in a buggy and later in an automobile (before there were roads), thus there is some surface wear. The belt loop is broken but it is not noticeable as it lays flat. The measurements as shown in the photos would be approximately 13 1/2 long, 6 1/2 wide and 6 1/2 high without handles and 8 3/4 with measurement including handles. If you open and extend the side panel is 8 inches and 10 inches including handles, the length and width don't change. the latter measurements would be more accurate if one was use a filler like air pockets in bag. Hope this is helpful. This Doctors Bag will display very well.

    Description

    I used to have an antique store, I was told that this Doctor's Bag was from the first Doctor in Medford Wisconsin. Later a retired Doctor stopped in and confirmed this information. I "Googled" and found out that the first Doctor was Dr. S. B. Hubbard who died in 1885. Dr. Tim Miller moved to Medford that same year. I believe the bag was owned by one of these Doctors. As stated above the bag is in very good to excellent condition. See photos for condition and stamps, Warranted Leather, Union Stamp, and model number. The inside is very soft "kid leather".
