Beautiful pair of Antique Victorian Era hair work earrings Circa 1800’s. These are a classic example of Victorian mourning jewelry crafted out of finely woven human hair accented with yellow gold wire earring hooks and details that have a beautiful floral pattern etched in them. They are a unique piece of artwork, and would make a perfect addition to your antique jewelry collection!
The hair on these earrings is woven very finely and beautifully with no rips or tears, they are in excellent condition for their age. The hair is of a pretty light brown color. The dome cylinder pendant form of these earrings is a rare shape to come by and highly sought after for collectors of hair jewelry. The floral top of one earring has a tiny area where there is what appears to be a minuscule hole in the gold, you can see this in the close up photos but it’s not visible when worn. The bottom of one earring has some very slight fraying in the hair pattern, but it is hardly noticeable and you also do not see it when they are being worn, refer to the close up images I have provided as I felt I should mention this even though these things are barely noticeable, you literally have to take a magnifying glass to then to see the two areas I mentioned.
They measure approximately 2 inches long in length (see my photos of them next to a measuring tape).
