C1840s-1850s Victorian Memorial Hair Weave & 10k Gold Bracelet

Description

Presented is a beautiful Victorian memorial hair bracelet, with 10 karat gold
accents. This is an American piece, dating to around the 1840s-1850s, possibly
even earlier. The bracelet is woven from dark hair and is quite stretchy given
the nature of the weaving. The bracelet has a gold cylinder to which both ends
of the hair portion are attached, with a chain and woven hair 'charm' hanging
underneath.
The gold is not stamped, but has been tested with nitric acid and is
guaranteed 10k.
The bracelet is in good overall condition. There is one small tear on the
back/innermost side by the gold portion. Otherwise the woven hair is in great
shape.
The bracelet weighs 4.1 grams. Considering the hair construction, not all of
this weight is gold, by far.
