ABOUT:
Old and beautiful Victorian Mourning locket pendant with a lovely high relief floral design. This is an antique piece that is thicker than your average locket with two compartments inside.  The insides of the locket are also decorated with a carved ornate design.  One side has a removable frame with a brass frame to tuck a lock of hair or pressed flower or additional photo behind.
This is a piece made of the vulcanite mineral, as evidenced that with age it changes from black to a warm brown patina.
Antique piece that I acquired in France dating from the 1800s.   It is a real statement piece.
Chain not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
It measures almost 1.5 inch wide and hangs about 2 inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom.  When laid flat, it rises up about an inch tall with the very high relief carving.
CONDITION:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition.  Some spots and discoloration from age. A shallow linear impression on the back that might have been done in the making. I was thinking it might look nice if it were oiled but that may be blasphemy on these old pieces so I will leave that to the buyer : ). Some surface wear and dust in the background, could use a good cleaning.  Hinge is still nice and tight.
Due to age, please note this is not a mint condition item.
