    I just purchased this antique Japanese miniature / individual teapot from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is characteristic of the late Meiji designs produced in the Satsuma style with applied slip to the enamel floral décor with medallions. The pale blue "clouds" with fine white slip dots compliments the pastel yellow ground. The piece originally had extensive 24K gold, much on the handle, finial and spout edge are worn (please refer to the pictures). The interior of the lid bears the pictured blue four character mark. The diminutive 1-cup pot measures 4" high, 5 ½" from spout to handle and 4" deep. The piece is in good condition with no issues other than the noted gold / finish wear. This charming miniature would make a nice addition to your collection of antique Japanese teapots.
