A very nice 21 piece Kyoto Satsuma tea service decorated by Kizan for the Yasuda company in the late Meiji period. All parts have very nicely painted scenes of ladies and children among wysteria blossom. The set consists of:
A teapot, 15 cm high, 21 cm handle to spout and 12 cm in diameter
A sugar pot, 12.5 cm high, 17.5 cm handle to handle and 11.5 cm in diameter
8 cups and saucers, cups 5 x 11.5 x 9.5 cm, saucers 14 cm in diameter
Larger charger, 31 cm in diameter
10 smaller plates, 18.5 cm in diameter each.
All pieces are marked Kizan, with the Yasuda company logo and the Shimazu clan mon. The charger also has an impressed Japan mark. A saucer and the sugar pot have a very tiny chip on the rim(<1mm), and some of the saucer have a tiny bit of wear on the painting, otherwise the set is in excellent condition. All pieces have some crazing.
